• Know when to say no. Set your own red lines of what you’re not willing to do, and stick to them. This is potentially at risk of your job – but if they can’t find someone to do the dirty work, it may not get done or done well.
• The Department of Justice’s court filing have been clearly deficient and unpersuasive in this administration. Notably, the worst filings are not signed by any career attorneys, indicating career staff have refused to contribute and unskilled political appointees are being forced to do the work themselves.
